The 2012 golf season promises to be special for those involved in the Kentucky Golf Association's tournament program. A new match play championship, double points and added event points awarded through the Player of the Year list, multiple Member Play Days throughout the Commonwealth and many other highlights are planned for this season.
Kentucky's amateur golfers will have an extended menu of tournaments in 2012 as the KGA will add a new match play championship to the schedule. KGA Adds Player of the Year Points to USGA Qualifiers
KGA Members Awarded for Local Competition
Beginning in 2012 the Kentucky Golf Association will be awarding Player of the Year points to the top finishers in USGA qualifying events conducted in the state. The top 10 finishers, who are members of the KGA Members Program, will receive points valued as follows: 1st Place - 25 pts, 2nd place - 20 pts, 3rd place - 18, 15, 13, 11, 10, 8, 5, and 3. View More

Patrick Newcomb is 2011 KGA John Owens Player of the Year
The Kentucky Golf Association is proud to announce that Patrick Newcomb is the 2011 KGA John Owens Player of the Year. Newcomb garnered his award by collecting player of the year points as winner of the Appalachian Wireless Kentucky State Amateur Championship held at Kearney Hill in Lexington this summer. Newcomb also contributed to the first place team in the KGA Fred Allen Team Championship and tied for low amateur at the Powerbilt Kentucky Open. View More
